Red Bloodline: A Way Back Home - Poem Collection

Red blood line / Sợi dây gia đình

In 2018, Grandma returned home after her cancer diagnosis, wrote a heartfelt poem for Mom and Uncle. It was a testament to her gratitude for the life they nurtured. Six months later, she passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love.

Six years later, I asked Mom about the meaning of "mother." She handed me Grandma’s poem and shared her life story. Through her words, I discovered the profound resilience of love in enduring our family life’s hardships. Love is red, and the bloodline intertwines our family.

Throughout my adult years, I’ve felt lost, struggling to embrace self-love rooted in childhood fears. This made me wary of commitment and relationships with others. This project is my way of finding peace and love within myself. It's my journey to document my family’s story and reconnect with our red bloodline, starting with Grandma's poem and tracing my way back to find home.

I wrote for my past, my inner child, my self and each of my family members a poem

Here is the text that my mom when she received her poem:“ Mẹ thấy cuộc đời mình đáng sống. Mẹ thấy cảm Xúc này làm rung động trái tim, nhưng rất nhẹ nhàng gần gũi và thoáng đạt. Cảm ơn con rất nhiều”

Elephant Fable - The Story of the Origin of Knowledge

Writing My Own Graduation Speech for Fulbright 2025

As the sun rises quietly, cozy in the corner, I await the arrival of thoughts—wiggling, rippling, giggling—they gossip lively. I capture them alive in poems, letting their chatter among verses, realities, and narratives. Each poem becomes an introspective journey into the unfolding daily moments. With each, I wrote my life into poetry.

Crafting poems shape my worldview, weaving 'worlds' within 'words,' shaping life through lines, intertwining reality with fantasy. Each word—a stride into a quest: “Who am I? Why am I here? What is this? How do I live?” It's a journey of self-discovery, diving deep into research, engaging in dialogues across time and space with ancestors, scholars, artists—every corner of the internet. Then, I articulate my understanding as succinct yet surprising verses, celebrating nature’s ever-changing beauty within blinks of eyes.

Each page is a refuge for the heart, a river brimming with tears of joy and sorrow, laughter of ironies. From its depths, reflection gazes back, urging me not just observation but to bravely immerse into life, embracing every shade of emotion.

This collection is a playground for my inner child—free to be wild: being- woman- pen- chicken- superman, summoning dragons, sculpting mountains, laughing like the Big Bang. I say YES! to ALL, letting creativity sprint, leap, tumble, tiptoe, rest, and dream in the lush green valley of imagination.
